USD1 is a stablecoin backed by U.S. Treasuries and cash equivalents
Extremely High Utilization
USD1 utilization rate is near 95%, available liquidity is very low. Depositors may not be able to withdraw assets in time.
Collateral Liquidity Risk
WLFI token serves as the primary collateral with extremely poor market liquidity. Liquidation may fail to cover positions — similar to the Curve founder CRV collateral crisis.
Concentrated Operator Risk
5 billion WLFI tokens deposited as collateral, suspected self-dealing by the project team. Borrowing stablecoins against own governance token creates conflict of interest.
USD1 Cross-chain Risk
USD1 issuance is growing on Solana. Third-party protocol incidents (e.g. Drift) could impact USD1 stability and backing.
